As with the other Story Buddy stuffed animals, Bell is an interactive toy that responds as you or your child reads aloud from one of her storybooks.
You buy Bell with her first book, Bell's Big Move , which introduces this cute character and tells the story of her move to Pineville. You can separately purchase the Christmas Star book which is great for kids who already have Jingle. Have you met the husky pup named Jingle? Allow me to introduce you! Jingle is the star of a delightfully sweet book series by Tom Shay-Zapien. My family was first introduced to Jingle and his friends by my grandmother. You see, we are a dog-loving family.
And we do love Christmas. So, when you put these three elements together in one neat package and add a stuffed husky puppy that sings and responds to voice commands as you read the book, well, we were all over that! This sweet, snow-frolicking pup loves to sing and play with his friends. This simple, delightful story brings out the fact that even pups need a good home and they want a home not only to be loved but to have someone that they can love.
What makes it even more exciting is that Jingle is not the only husky pup to join us! Jingle is an interactive Husky Pup made by the big brains at Hallmark. Jingle comes with is very own special book and a CD.
The logic goes like this: read the story and at specific sentences, Jingle will respond. First things first, Jingle is absolutely adorable. As a stuffed animal, Jingle is just too cute to pass up. The best part then about this Jingle package is that he comes with a CD, a special book, and some cool technology that allows Jingle to respond to key phrases. How does Jingle work?
Well, there are 2 ways you can do this. You can either read from the book or you can turn on the CD. In the book, there are certain phrases in red. The same phrases will also illicit a response from Jingle when you use the CD.
Depending on the phrase, sometimes Jingle happily barks, sings, or whines in sadness. Now, the real question is: does Jingle really work? Does he really respond every time you say those key phrases? The first time I read the book, Jingle responded like a charm to every red phrase. The first time my kid read the book, Jingle also responded to every single red phrase.
I yelled it across the room and he answers. I reminded her that he did respond to her before together we tried to problem solve the issue. Turns out, Jingle responds best when you say those key red phrases with as little emotion as possible. Beyond the fact that Jingle was supposed to bark at designated times, I had no hopes for this book at all.
Well, I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the overall storyline of this Jingle all the Way book. You learn that Jingle is a pretty good dog and he loves to hang out with the children after they get out from school. In fact, he likes to hang out with them so much that he tries to follow them home.
